The term "family doctor" evokes a sense of comfort, confidence, reassurance and above all a holistic way of looking at any medical issues that me or any of my family members may be experiencing. In today's world, where there are so many specialisations, and multiple disciplines of medicine, which are often beyond the grasp of ordinary patients, the family doctor is the first door to knock on. They are able to treat us, and where neccessary point us to the exact specialist treatment that we need.
Most of our day to day ailments can be treated by them, and they can treat both children and adults. In my experience, they provide a very valuable service to the community by providing primary care and medical intervention. I have personally experienced their keen observation skills, commitment to their patients, patience, ability to interact and explain things to patients and follow-up with patients where and when neccessary.
